Dr Penny McAllum first NZer to attend the 'Women in Ophthalmology Summer Symposium"

Dr McAllum recently attended the annual 'Women in Ophthalmology Summer Symposium' in San Diego. She is the first New Zealander to attend this meeting which is in its 30th year. She enjoyed a busy schedule with inspiring talks about leadership, communication and maximising outcomes as well as new clinical treatments. She was fortunate to be included in a hands on surgery course learning new corneal transplant surgery techniques. The meeting also afforded her the opportunity to meet some remarkable female ophthalmologists from the United States and around the world.
