Dr Penny McAllum attended the World Cornea Congress in San Diego 15-17 April. This meeting which is only held once every five years was attended by world experts specialising in the anterior segment of the eye. Highlights included new treatment recommendations for early corneal cross linking treatment for keratoconus in children and teenagers and numerous surgical tips for maximising outcomes of complicated corneal transplant cases.

During the Congress Dr McAllum also attended a dinner for University of Toronto Corneal Fellowship graduates. More than 20 corneal specialists from around the world got together with their Canadian mentors, Dr's Rootman and Slomovic, to celebrate the ongoing success of the Toronto sub-specialist training programme and share their wealth of experience.
