Dr Andrew Riley led a team of ophthalmologists and optometrists to Tonga in late September. This hugely successful volunteer trip tackled the problem of blindness due to cataracts with 55 cataract operations being performed during the week. A number of other procedures were performed as well as 233 people being seen in clinics. The optometrists despensed over 300 pairs of glasses. Dr Riley looks forward to leading a team to Tonga again in 2016.
